WHY STUDY HERE? WORK PLACEMENTS To boost your employability when you graduate, you will have the chance to go on multiple work placements throughout your studies. In addition to placements embedded into the first two years of your course, you will then have the option to undertake a paid 12-month placement, during which you will not incur any tuition fees. Our previous students have done placements with the likes of Mars, Aga, Mondelēz, Bakkavör, Samworth Brothers and Blue Earth Foods, as well as working at the head offices of supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s PRACTICAL APPLICATION Thanks to our well-developed links with the food industry, which are reflected in the design and delivery of this course, you will work on a number of industry-led projects and assignments to further boost your practical experience SPECIALISE YOUR STUDIES As part of the course, you will have the opportunity to engage in an independent research project of your choice, enabling you to carry out in-depth study of a subject that interests you most SUBJECT-SPECIFIC FACILITIES Our multi-million pound Food Science and Innovation Suite provides state-of-the-art equipment for you to conduct your studies and research, with two specialist kitchens, a bespoke sensory evaluation room, pilot plant and science facilities. Designed with the help of the food industry, it also replicates the environment you could go on to work in after you graduate.

GRADUATE CAREERS There is a wide range of career possibilities within the food, consumer and retail industries which you could pursue after completing this course, from designing and developing products to monitoring food manufacturing or even marketing, retail and education. Options available to you upon graduating from this course include: • Food product development • Food journalism

BSc (Hons) degree graduates who want to continue their studies can progress onto postgraduate level courses offered at University College Birmingham, the University of Birmingham or elsewhere.
