SUBJECT-SPECIFIC FACILITIES Our tourism students have access to our brand new Aviation and Tourism Suite, offering exciting simulation facilities including a state-of-the-art mock plane cabin. Our facilities also include check-in areas and Galileo GDS system for training students. GRADUATE CAREERS Completing this course will allow you to move into a wide variety of areas within the international tourism industry, with opportunities for rapid advancement in the public, private and voluntary sectors. You could pursue a career in: • Tour operations • Destination management organisations • Tourism and digital marketing • Market research • Corporate press relations • Airlines • Project management • Travel account managers • Hospitality • Other transport graduate recruitment schemes Our graduates have also gone on to work in corporate travel and events companies, as well as within the wider travel industry in travel journalism and media. BA (Hons) degree graduates who want to continue their studies can progress onto postgraduate level courses offered at University College Birmingham, the University of Birmingham or elsewhere.

As part of the BA (Hons) degree course, you can undertake a 48-week paid placement to experience the industry first-hand and greatly enhance your career prospects. What’s more, you will not incur any tuition fees during the placement. Previous placements have included Caro Hotel (Spain), Lisbon Bike Tour & Outdoors (Portugal), Coeur Des Montagnes (France) and Cherry Hills Country Club (USA) RESIDENTIAL VISITS During the course, you will take on a range of projects within the UK and overseas to gain a unique insight into how major destinations develop their tourism industries, with the University covering the essential costs of your trips. Previous destinations have included Krakow, Prague, Budapest, Barcelona, Seville, Berlin, Amsterdam, The Gambia, Cyprus, Toronto, Boston, Washington and New York SPECIALISE YOUR STUDIES From Attraction Management to Crisis Communications Management and Smart Tourism and Aviation, we offer an extensive variety of optional modules that will enable you to gain expertise in a field that relates to your chosen career path ENRICHMENT As an ITT Centre of Excellence, we host tourism and travel events to enrich your studies and promote industry awareness, while you will also have the chance to work on live and simulated industry projects in association with our industry networks
