AVIATION AND AIRPORT MANAGEMENT

BA (Hons)/FdA Accredited by the University of Birmingham

OVERVIEW Aviation is booming. Airlines transported more than 4.5 billion passengers worldwide in 2019, while global cities, ‘mega-regions’ and emerging destinations are experiencing phenomenal growth in aviation development. Airlines and airports are increasingly harnessing new digital technologies to create ‘smarter’ operations, conscious of the global environmental challenges society faces. Our Aviation and Airport Management degree will help your career ‘take off’ in this soaring sector. Using our state-of-the-art facilities including our new Aviation Suite, you will gain a deep understanding of the aviation environment and practices through simulated and real-life industry projects, visiting airports, networking with experts and learning first-hand how the industry functions. Research shows 70% of employers are reluctant to recruit graduates without relevant work experience. One of the benefits of our course is the option of a four-year degree with a 48-week paid work placement, giving you a distinctive advantage in a competitive job market. A number of our students have also worked part-time at Birmingham Airport, and with the airport’s £500 million expansion plan to become the ‘Midlands Gateway to the World’, there are fantastic opportunities on your doorstep both during and after your studies. Students studying the FdA will have the option of progressing onto the final year of the BA (Hons).

We had fascinating placements over the course, including Amsterdam to conduct an audit of Schiphol Airport, Berlin to visit Brandenburg Airport and Dubai, with a guest lecture at the Emirates Aviation University. I currently as a supervisor, my deep understanding of the industry and its regulatory bodies helping me get the job in the first place. work at Cornwall Airport Newquay
