WHY STUDY HERE? RESIDENTIAL VISITS

SUBJECT-SPECIFIC FACILITIES Our sports students have exclusive use of our outstanding sports facilities at Moss House, including a cutting-edge gym and 35-metre indoor running track. You will also be able to use our Human Performance Laboratory, sports hall and clinics as well as the all-weather pitch and two grass pitches at Avery Fields, which we share with leading Birmingham rugby club Bournville RFC. GRADUATE CAREERS Completing this course will enable you to move into a wide variety of areas and roles within sports management, including: • Sports development officers • Sports centre managers • Corporate sports hospitality

You will take part in several residential visits, funded by University College Birmingham, to help you develop a wider appreciation of effective sports management in national and international sporting environments. Past destinations include Rome, Athens, Barcelona, Paris, Krakow and Berlin, while our Lake District Leadership trip enables you to undertake an Emergency First Aid qualification as well as challenging your leadership and teamwork skills WORK PLACEMENT After completing the second year of this course, you will have the option of taking a 48-week paid placement, giving you a distinctive advantage in the graduate job market. What’s more, you won’t incur any tuition fees during your placement year SPECIALISE YOUR STUDIES Our range of optional modules will enable you to tailor your studies to specialist areas such as Sports Psychology, Financial Strategy or Sports Marketing. You will also have the chance to critically analyse a particular subject that interests you for your final research project INDUSTRY APPROVED University College Birmingham is a higher education partner of CIMSPA, improving your employability by linking your learning to industry expectations. You also receive a range of other benefits including CIMSPA membership throughout the duration of your course and introductions to local CIMSPA employer partners

You can also use the foundation degree and BA (Hons) degree to gain entry to careers that require a business and management qualification. Graduates who want to continue their studies can progress onto postgraduate level courses offered at University College Birmingham, the University of Birmingham or elsewhere.

The residential visits will help you to apply your learning to the real world, developing your knowledge of the subject.
