WHY STUDY HERE? WORK PLACEMENT As part of this course, you will take on a number of short work placements which will give you valuable experience and can provide an amazing stepping stone towards your chosen career. Our previous students have worked at Michelin-starred restaurants such as Carters of Moseley and Opheem, as well as Clayton Hotel (formally Hotel La Tour), Sky by the Water and The Edgbaston Boutique Hotel. Students have also worked in locations such as Africa, New Zealand, France and Spain ENRICHMENT Your studies will be enhanced by a range of activities engaging with the industry, from guest lectures and demonstrations to masterclasses and visits, as well as further employment opportunities EXPERT TUITION You will be taught by some of the best chefs and food professionals in the industry, working in our state-of-the-art kitchen facilities to develop classic techniques and learn how these approaches have been refined and complemented by contemporary industry practices SUBJECT-SPECIFIC FACILITIES We have incredible professional training kitchens used by the likes of Michel Roux Jr to find his yearly scholar, while our multi-million pound Food Science and Innovation Suite provides cutting- edge research equipment. Our AA award-winning fine dining restaurant and bistro on campus also provide the ideal environment for our students to hone their chef and hospitality skills and gain experience serving real customers.

The range of modules, from culinary skills and techniques to the science of food, allows you to increase your cookery knowledge and expertise throughout the course.

GRADUATE CAREERS This course will help you to become a highly skilled and employable professional capable of thriving in top kitchens and producing a high standard of cooking. You will be able to move into a range of career paths such as: • Professional cookery • Food innovation • Culinary development • Patisserie • Food and diet research Upon completion of the foundation degree, you will also have the opportunity to continue studying towards a related BA (Hons) degree, such as our Culinary Arts Management course.
