As part of your degree, you will undertake a number of placements in a variety of practice settings to give you experience of working with different people and applying different methods, as well as ensuring you meet the minimum 200 days of practice learning required to demonstrate professional fitness to practise. Throughout your placements, you will be supported, supervised and assessed by experienced social workers who are trained as practice educators PRACTICAL APPLICATION In addition to your placements, you will also have further opportunities to test your practical skills, with your studies incorporating case studies and simulation work INDUSTRY APPROVED By completing statutory social work tasks involving legal interventions during your placements, this course will ensure you meet the Professional Capability Framework (PCF) requirements, the Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) set by the Government and the Professional Standards set by Social Work England, with whom you will be able to formally register as a social worker when you graduate
• Independent fostering agencies • Residential homes and hospices • Community settings
Upon completing the course, you will be able to formally register with Social Work England as a professional social worker. Graduates who wish to continue their studies can also progress onto postgraduate level study.
You will have a knowledgeable team of lecturers who are qualified social workers from various backgrounds. You will focus on practice skills and interactive learning methods in simulated scenarios, giving you the chance to apply theories in practice.
