OVERVIEW Social work is all about improving lives, empowering people and helping them to cope with challenges. If you are passionate about working with a diverse range of people on a wide spectrum of issues, our Social Work degree will give you the essential knowledge and skills to set you on the path to a hugely varied and rewarding career. From working with local authorities and charities to fostering and adoption, this course will help you master working with a wide range of individuals, families, groups and communities on any number of complex issues, assessing needs and helping people make informed choices that will make a real difference in their lives. Upon completing the course, you will be able to formally register with Social Work England as a professional social worker – an essential requirement for entering employment in this field. Getting hands-on experience is also a vital element of our course, and an essential requirement for demonstrating your fitness to practise in the industry. After gaining a strong foundation of knowledge and skills, you will undertake a number of placements throughout your degree to help you become an effective practitioner capable of working in many different settings within the sector.

This course will equip you with knowledge of theories and methods to support individuals or communities. You will also undertake two practice placements, where you can gain first-hand experience supported by a practice educator and qualified social worker.
