WHY STUDY HERE? WORK PLACEMENTS To get you ready for the industry, you will undertake a number of placements in different clinical and community settings throughout your course. Opportunities range from GP surgeries to care homes, hospices and even visiting patients in their own homes, ensuring you have a variety of experiences to expand your skills and knowledge for working in many different areas of nursing PRACTICAL APPLICATION In addition to your placements, you will be able to perfect your practical skills in a real- life environment right on campus, with our purpose-built clinical skills and simulation suite offering a range of facilities including a replica hospital ward and a community care setting INDUSTRY APPROVED This degree will ensure you are educated to today’s gold standard of nursing in line with ‘Future nurse: Standards of proficiency for registered nurses’ set by the NMC, with whom you will be able to apply for Registered Nurse status when you graduate. Our course aims to develop nurses who will demonstrate Fitness for Practise and accountability, acting in a professional manner and adhering to NHS core values both inside and outside the hospital environment
SUBJECT-SPECIFIC FACILITIES Our purpose-built clinical skills and simulation suite provides a specialist learning environment closely replicating real-life care settings to enhance your practical training. Our facilities include: • Six-bed replica hospital ward with simulation manikins
• Community care environment • Clinical skills teaching room with virtual reality technology • Additional study and teaching areas
GRADUATE CAREERS Completing this degree will open the doors for you to enter a professional career within a variety of settings in health and social care. You will be able to apply for registered nurse roles in: • Hospitals • GP practices • Health centres • Community organisations • Residential homes • Hospices • Specialist units and schools You could also work with patients in their own homes, while, with additional experience, you may work in delivering health care education and training. Alternatively, you can continue onto postgraduate level study.
