Our course offers you the chance to gain vital hands-on experience through placements. Opportunities are available with the likes of West Bromwich Albion FC, City of Birmingham Basketball and MSC Performance, while our past students have supported Wasps Rugby Academy with fitness testing INDUSTRY APPROVED Our course carries internationally-recognised industry accreditation from the NSCA and you will gain student membership during your studies PRACTICAL APPLICATION In addition to placements, you will be exposed to real strength and conditioning working environments in University and industry facilities, giving you the opportunity to get involved with individual or group conditioning such as coaching lifts, plyometric and power- based exercise or speed and agility drills ENRICHMENT You will have access to additional qualifications and enhancement opportunities to enrich your studies and boost your career prospects. You will be able to network with industry professionals while you will also benefit from our annual Sports Performance and Rehabilitation Conference SUBJECT-SPECIFIC FACILITIES Our state-of-the-art sports facilities include our performance gym and sports hall – used for practical sessions to analyse movement biomechanics and hone coaching and lifting technique – along with our Human Performance Laboratory featuring a state-of-the-art anti-gravity treadmill and sports injury/massage clinics.

You will use the latest research from the industry to ensure your practitioner skills are based on evidence from the sector.

You will also have exclusive use of our outstanding new facilities at Moss House, including a cutting- edge gym and 35-metre indoor running track, as well as the facilities at Avery Fields, which we share with leading Birmingham rugby club Bournville RFC. GRADUATE CAREERS This course will open doors to an exciting career as a strength and conditioning coach and put you in a strong position to achieve NSCA and UKSCA accreditation. There is also the option to continue your studies with an MSc and potentially progress onto BASES accreditation, or complete a PGCE to enable you to teach within this field.
