COLLEGE OF FOOD AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT @UCBofficial
INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT
BA (Hons) Top-up Accredited by the University of Birmingham
OVERVIEW If you want to pursue a career in the hospitality and tourism sectors, our International Hospitality and Tourism Management Top-up course will sharpen your business skills to give you the ideal preparation for the industry. This intensive one-year course is designed for students who already have a relevant foundation degree or equivalent Level 5 qualification, enabling you to graduate with a full BA (Hons) degree. Studying at a recognised Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) Centre of Excellence, you will develop the essential business knowledge and skills to succeed in these fast-moving industries. You will learn about business administration in the context of the international hospitality and tourism industries, examining how sectors work together, taking a strategic look at the future and learning how to develop a business that can respond successfully to change. You will also analyse problems, make strong business decisions and communicate with colleagues and customers. You will be encouraged to seek additional industry experience throughout your studies, while there is the opportunity for you to go on an overseas residential trip as part of your own international research project. Our range of optional modules will also enable you to develop a specialism relevant to your future career.
I am glad I have accumulated a lot of work experience during my course, which gives me more choices. I had eight months of internship experience in a hotel, where I learned how to communicate with guests and solve problems, as well as learning a lot of computer- related skills. Yuqi Su
